Beamer is a big ol’ hound dog.  But don’t let his size fool you; he is a well-behaved gentle giant who likes people and gets along well with other dogs.  He is mostly quiet, but sometimes when he’s out for a walk, he has to throw his head back and call out to any other hounds that might be within earshot.  Because of his size, he would do best in a household without small children.  He needs a home that has room to turn around, and he needs a yard with room to run.  His long legs, hound’s endurance, and good behavior on a leash would make him the perfect companion for a jogger or hiker.  And after the exercising is done, he would love to lie around with you while you scratch him behind the ears.
