Jude is one of the handsomest boys at the shelter.  He is adjusting to the shelter pretty well and has gotten a lot more comfortable with the folks who interact with him.  He is a calm, even tempered guy.  He’s still a little reticent when meeting new people, especially men, but he maintains his calm and just keeps his distance.  Dude does very well on leash and loves to explore the outdoors.  You see him wagging his tail often while on walks now. Once he is comfortable and feels safe with you he is playful and affectionate.  He really likes his scratches ( you will too because he is so soft).Approach him for pets from below his head until he gets to know you, not above as coming from above makes him anxious.  He still startles with sudden movements and sounds.  We can only imagine what experiences he had prior to coming to the shelter, but it’s clear he responds to gentleness and kindness.  He could be your most loving fun companion if you give him the time.
