Waylon is a young happy lad who exudes joy. He sees all 2 and 4 legged beings as friends and engages easily. He likes to greet new friends with a jump up hug, but has learned “off” quickly and can catch himself before jumping up most of the time. He also knows “sit” and “lay down”, which he also learned quickly. He’s still working on “with me” (some say “heel”) when on leash as his hound nose takes him all over and he’s a strong boy. He is treat motivated, so continued training will be easy with him. Waylon absolutely loves kids, though he might be a bit much for the under 5 set. He has been known to bypass an interested adult to go to an 8 or 9 year old and just rest his head on their shoulder and nestle into their neck to get a good hug. He is very affectionate and enjoys scratches and conversation. He’ll look you in the eye while settled on your lap (at least his front half) and listen while you just quietly talk to him.  He has a good bit of energy so an active family who loves exploring the outdoors and playing in a fenced yard would be just awesome for him. This guy can pretty much go anywhere. Then, he’ll cuddle up on the couch with you while you both relax.
