Josie is a beautiful lab/pit mix.  She has a glossy black coat, intense, bright eyes, and a beautiful head.  She was probably ignored in her former life because she is a bit shy with people and is just now enjoying  hugs and making eye contact.   Ask her to sit for treats, however, and she is down in a heartbeat, eyeballs to eyeballs, at full attention!  She loves the play yard and one of her favorite games is keep away. She will run in circles and then buzz by for a good tease.  Pretend you are not interested, and here she comes, pushing the ball forward, her eyes locked on yours, ready for the grab. We then play a gentle game of tug, which she adores. Josie has been a challenge for this walker because as much as she loves engaged play, it has been hard for her to just sit and accept loving attention. She is shy that way.
She attended her first off-site in April and was a big hit.  She seemed to enjoy the attention she got from her many visitors who included lots of children, men and women of all varieties.  She was ok with all of the noise and distractions and allowed this walker to give her lots of strokes and hugs and adoring attention.
We took a second outing to the City Park in late June and she was approached and fawned over by many young summer campers who were happy to make her sit for treats and stroke her shiny coat.
Josie loves our group walks and is ok with most dogs, but sometimes does not do well with other large females, depending on their personalities.
Josie is another dog who is not a wiggle-bottom but comes across as aloof, at first. She is shy with strangers. Don't be a stranger. Come meet her, get to know her, and claim her as your own. It is her turn.
